Will my PDF be stored on your servers?+
No. PDFs are read entirely in your browser using PDF.js — the file never leaves your machine. Only the extracted text is sent to our AI for summarization.
Why not summarize the whole paper instead of just the abstract?+
The abstract already contains the paper's core question, method, findings, and significance. Summarizing it gives you the actionable takeaway in seconds. If you want the full paper rewritten in plain English, use the Humanize Full Paper mode instead.
What if the PDF is a scanned image?+
We can only read PDFs that contain actual text — not scanned images. If your PDF was created by scanning a printed paper, you'll need to OCR it first (Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, or similar tools can do this).
How is this different from just reading the abstract myself?+
Abstracts are written for peers in the field — dense with jargon, hedging, and statistical shorthand. We translate that into language a curious non-specialist can follow, with key terms defined inline.
How many PDFs can I upload per day?+
